The birth of a Cheeky Icon.
CYCLEBUTTCRACK was born on the July 17, 2004, during a long, hot, hard day in the saddle. That was my first time participating in STP, the Seattle to Portland bike ride. We started off fast, too fast. At Spanaway, my riding partner and I ate some sort of curry concoction wrapped in a tortilla. At mile 60 our stomachs began to question our choice of curry as a ride fuel. At mile 75 my ride partner took a nap. At Centralia, he was done, succumbing to nausea and leg cramps. I, being stubborn and not so bright continued to Kelso, our planned day one stopping point. At one point, during those 50 stomach churning, leg cramping, butt burning miles… I looked up at the rider ahead of me and realized he was showing a bit of BUTTCRACK. I thought to myself, ‘I should print a jersey like that.’ At that moment CYCLEBUTTCRACK was born!!!
July 8 and 9, 2011, CYCLEBUTTCRACK finally came full circle. The jersey made its premier at the Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic and the response was fantastic. I was excited and nervous to show the jersey for the first time, but my fellow riders had great reactions.
